Gaynor Davies MA MBACP
Anxiety is exhausting.
Sometimes life can be difficult unpredictable and confusing. Asking for support from a professional is a brave decision and one that signifies the first step towards a healthier and more fulfilling future.
I can offer a listening supportive ear, helping you to develop a coherent narrative about your
life and current situation. This will allow you to process emotions and identify any habits and
beliefs that may be holding you back.
In response to the current situation, sessions are via Skype, Zoom or telephone.
I can offer lower cost counselling to any frontline NHS or care workers.
I can also offer remote appointments more flexibly, at any time of day.
I am an experienced integrative therapist with over 9 years of experience working full time
with clients. My integrative approach allows me to draw from several techniques and tailor them to meet your individual needs and circumstances. This means that I am able to work in a time-limited solution-focused way in response to managing significant life events or external stress. Alternatively I can offer long-term work with clients who have experienced trauma and have significant struggles managing their emotions and everyday life.
I aim to create a safe and non-judgemental environment where we can work together to promote a positive and trusting client-counsellor relationship. I strive to experience the world through your eyes to allow you to be heard and understood with sensitivity.
In order to gain insight into any difficulties you may be facing, I will help you to identify any negative behaviours or thought patterns, and encourage you to try out new ways of being from the safety of the therapy room. I will work with you to find the strategies that will enable you to move forward positively and thrive.
I endeavour to show my clients resilience, patience and humility. I have experience of working with individuals affected by anxiety, addiction, PTSD, and have worked extensively post-qualification with women experiencing or recovering from trauma. I also have experience of working with clients with additional needs including developmental disorders.
Prior to becoming a Psychotherapist, I worked for over 15 years within social care, providing
support to children and families. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice and Psychotherapy.
